Wimmera Health Care Group has celebrated being a finalist in the Premier’s Medium Health Service of the Year category at the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards.
Acting chief executive Mark Knights said the organisation was named a finalist alongside Echuca Regional Health and eventual winner East Grampians Health Service.
The award acknowledges health services which are in a strong position clinically, financially and are innovative in their approach to patient care.
"We are very proud to have been named one of just three finalists in our category. It is recognition of the dedication and hard work of our staff as well their commitment to innovation in the health industry," Mr Knights said.
"Our submission outlined our strong results in health experience surveys and performance monitoring alongside our innovative projects including the sub-acute facility, occupational violence program, Hospital in the Home and Oncology Redesign.
"The submission also highlighted our work to increase the amount of feedback we receive from consumers and improve the way we engage with consumers."
The awards were presented at a gala dinner in Melbourne on December 12.
