Wimmera Health Care Group have received two grants from the Victorian State Government.

As part of the government’s Significant Facility Refurbishment Initiative 2017/2018, Wimmera Health Care Group was successful in obtaining two grants worth $260,000 and $360,000.

The initiative is designed to support projects to deliver significant improvements for residents through enhancing quality and amenity of facilities.

Wimmera Health Care Group’s director of residential services, Maree Woodhouse said the funding will greatly help improve facilities and services.

“We received a $260,000 grant for the Dimboola Campus upgrade,” Ms Woodhouse said.

“These funds will be used to replace the nurse call system and contribute towards replacing the air conditioning system.”

Kurrajong Lodge received $360,000 for the construction of a day room.

“At present the residents at Kurrajong Lodge don’t have a space where they can all gather to do activities,” Ms Woodhouse said.

“Having a day room large enough for group activities will be fantastic and hopefully encourage more residents to participate.”

The planning for the upgrades has already commenced.
